Recorded at Mississippi Studios in June 2014
Portland, OR- based folkstress Alela Diane will be releasing a digital EP on June 17th in the US entitled About Farewell B-sides and Scenic Burrows Sessions. The EP serves as a companion piece to last year’s full-length About Farewell, and completes her soul-baring song cycle about love and loss as informed by a divorce. The EP features two beautiful new songs, “The King” and “The Girl in Gray”, recorded during the About Farewell sessions, as well as acoustic renditions of a few of the album tracks. In the meantime since About Farewell’s release, Alela has found new love and celebrated the birth of her first child. She has just embarked on a summer tour of Europe with her family in tow, and is finding new inspiration in motherhood as she begins to write towards her next album. These B-sides and acoustic sessions will also be released as a bonus edition to the About Farewell album on Believe Records on June 16 in Europe, and June 23 in the UK.
Recorded at the Historic Old Church in Portland, Oregon, June 26. 2013.
